This photo was taken at Grasmere near Helm Close just before starting our walk to Easedale Tarn.
Grasmere is a village, and popular tourist destination, in the centre of the English Lake District. It takes its name from the adjacent lake, and is associated with the Lake Poets. The poet William Wordsworth, who lived in Grasmere for fourteen years, described it as "the loveliest spot that man hath ever found".[
The three main figures of what has become known as the Lakes School are William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and Robert Southey. They were associated with several other poets and writers, including Dorothy Wordsworth, Charles Lamb, Charles Lloyd, Hartley Coleridge, John Wilson, and Thomas De Quincey.

Hi Trevor. Wordsworth may have been right- it looks heavenly. Excellent light management, lovely details are encountered everywhere- nothing hidden in dark shadows.Mind you, if this was Inspector Barnaby's part of the woods, one would expect foul play at the next bend. Regards. Klaudio.

I like this composition very much. Superbly presented with beautiful colours and excellent clarity. The lane draws the viewer into the scene whilst the stone house provides contrast and makes a very attractive focal point.

one of my favourite places in England and one that I rarely get up to admire, and when I see shots like this I know I should get up there more often. It is quintessential Lake District, with an idyllic mix of early summer greens and colours. An enticing and beautifully executed shot. You can see why it inspired poetry when you look at its beauty in this fine image.

Wonderful! The view is really beautiful and you made a pretty compo, reminiscent of an illustration of an old story book. I like it very much.
Regards, TF, José.

Hello Trevor - I feel as if I am walking along this lane, the damp atmosphere is very well conveyed and the enjoyment of being plunged into a rich, green leafy environment is wonderful. I like the whole feel of this shot.
