Note: This image was taken on a very rainy walk out of Grassmere. Wearing full rain gear the small Olympus was tucked just inside the zip of my raincoat. I would bring it out to take images, hand held, from time to time when the rain eased. I was constantly wiping rain drops off the UV filter with my handkerchief. Occasionally I managed to get an image with no drops.
"Easedale Tarn is a tarn in the centre of the English Lake District, about two miles west of the village of Grasmere. It lies in a hollow between Tarn Crag to the north and Blea Rigg to the south, about 910 feet or 280 metres above sea level. The hollow was formed by a small corrie glacier, and is believed to have filled with water around 11,000 years ago when the ice finished melting.
Easedale Tarn is one of the larger tarns in the district, about 480 metres long and 300 metres wide. Its outflow is Sourmilk Gill, named after the milky white colour of its waterfalls, which runs east towards Grasmere. The gill displays impressive water scenery when seen from Grasmere, and from the path to the tarn.
The tarn is a popular destination for walkers. Many people climb the path from Grasmere ..."http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easedale_Tarn

thatīs really magnificent!
I mean both the landscape as well as your treatment.
The combination of grey and green shades is just superb!
I think itīs even better you had a rainy weather(even if it sounds mean from me:)
It creates the mood of the scene!
Have a nice weekend

This is the sort of image that shows that good photographers can take excellent pictures in the worst of weather. The muddy track makes a fine lead line, drawing the viewer into the scene. The threatening and evident rainy conditions create a dramatic atmosphere. The image image has good saturated colours and first class clarity.

Hello Trevor ,
What a gorgeous capture ! The composition is perfect , and the adramtic atmosphere so amazing by this cloudy rainy day .
We can see here that it is possibel to take a great picture in such bad conditions .

Basically there are two colours here: grey and green. But there are so many shades of each colour, and the scenery is so varied, that it doesn't get boring even for a second watching this. This might be a great place for long walks even when it's not raining, although I believe that the rain had something to do with the superb green tones.

Hi Trevor - Your wet walk and persistence with your camera resulted in a fine shot which should encourage us all to battle the elements in search of beauty! This is moody and evocative. I love the rich greens and the way the stone wall leads us through the scene. Nice work! Warm regards Rosemary

I have always maintained that the Lake District is beautiful no matter what the weather!
I have walked to Easdale Tarn but have the feeling that we went in the opposite direction.
You have used the track very successfully to guide us to a strong vanishing point, ensuring that we have opportunity to enjoy the details of the stone walls and barn, and the wider expanse of the hills and crags.
The grey sky is not detrimental, it provides a mood and explains the condition of the path! The grass has an eye-catching lustre.
My warm regards,

Beautiful and peaceful-looking landscape!
Attractive and pleasant-looking picture here too!
Here, I also miss a bit more sharpness (I didn't mention this in my other comment), but I do enjoy the management of difficult light, colors, chosen pov, composition, horizontal format and black & white borders!
TFS - congrats,
