Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
This is my second photograph of Grasmere, which was taken on our way up to Mungrisdale, in the Lake District.
'Grasmere at 1 mile long, half a mile wide and 75 feet deep, would be an attractive and popular tourist area even without its Wordsworth connections. ‘The most loveliest spot than man hath found’ was Wordsworth’s famous quote describing the area of Lakeland that he most loved.'
If you follow this link you will discover more about Grasmere, the lake and the village.
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)
I rotated the shot 1° added 4% saturation and added a little contrast.
Sorry everyone, the last part of my notes failed to print initially. I have just retyped them

Hello Bev,
A very apt title for this lovely photograph. I like the composition and the use of the fence to lead the viewer into the scene. The lighting is most attractive and the reflections quite beautiful. Fine technical presentation.

Hi Beverley. I find it moving that Wordsworth looked at this scene so long ago and thought lofty thoughts. Mind you, because of who he was, he could use a double superlative and get away with it. The light is so gentle and the mood soothing. Well composed image, excellent clarity. Best wishes. Klaudio.

Hello Bev,
The quiet colours represent this lake very well (my favourite of the Lakes) and you haven't been tempted to saturate the colours. The fence in the corner anchors the composition. A beautiful palce even in winter - TFS.

Hi Bev
would not disagree with the title of this one. A classic composition with all the elements perfectly placed and in that glorious winter light that makes everything look so calm and attractive. Beautiful image!
Enjoy a good week - Brian.

Bonjour Beverly
J'aime beaucoup l'inclusion de la clôture dans l'image qui semble vouloir diriger le regard vers les reflets des nuages sur les eaux calmes du lac. Un ensemble très soigné.
Amicalement

Hello Beverley ,
It seems that the weather was not so bad in Cumbria last week . A splendid composition with superb reflections in the calm water of the lake . You've very used the wooden fence in the FG .

Hello Bev,even in the depth of Winter, with the sunlit trees all bare this area appears inviting. The reflection of the fence in the FG also adds charm and interest.

Ciao Beverley

Good evening Beverly,
Nobody can argue about your determination with the title, it is subjective - and I found the previous post likey, but that's my humble oppinion.
the lake district as I remember offer many opportunities for nice photography on open nature, with reflections on a nice days, and you collected this superbly.
Calm water-surface, no wind and nobody around... Lovely.

Hi Bev,
This is indeed a lovely spot. This is also a good capture where the fence adds depth and a diagonal. The very calm water provides a perfect mirror for the background hills. Maybe I should have raised the colours a bit. Still a very pleasant view!
Kind regards

Hello Bev,
A very interesting note with some interesting links too which tell us about this place as well as William Wordsworth and his family. But just one thing - the quality of the photographs on those weblinks is appalling - why don't you send them some of yours?
I'm not really quite sure why people seem to build fences which just disappear into lakes (unless they are simply a continuation of a fence to keep animals in) but such fences really do make a very fine foreground feature - and you have made the very most of this one.
Gorgeous soft light and absolutely stunning reflections on the mirror-like water. Fine soft colours too and excellent composition, exposure and sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. I've had that problem too when uploading a picture - sometimes a whole section of text just vanishes off to Andromeda or somewhere. But I think, at least in my case, it has usually been because I've made a mistake by missing something out (or putting in something wrong) when adding a link to another site or photograph.

Hello Beverley,
Well composed using the rule of thirds wıth good sharpness and lovely fg reflections. I lıke the pastel colours and the dıagonal fg fence bottom rıght adding good lead in lines & perspective. Tfs!

Hi Bev.
A delicious landscape you've captured a splendid POV, to include the fence in the foreground, plus charm, gives a good POV to the composition, beautiful reflections add a magnificent vision.
Beautiful color range in these tones.
Very good lighting and sharpness.
It is a splendid work. I love it.
Enjoy a good day.
Best regards.

Hi Bev,
beautiful photo, it really encourages me to visit the Lake District. It is high on my list but I am still waiting for some warmer days, which I hope will eventually come this year.
The reflection is the obvious highlight of the composition but also including the fence makes a nice foreground and cuts nicely into the reflection.
Excellent work,
M

Hello Bev,
On the foreground the water is very transparent. Nevertheless, we see almost perfect reflections.
The sunlit reed and trees at the other shore look very attractive with their warm tones.
The fence helps for the good composition and also direct our eyes to that wonderful other side of the water.
Best regards, Paul

hi Bev,
A stunning shot by any accounts, but the fence half in the water makes this extra special for me. It gives excellent depth (and a bonus reflection too!!) with that incredible backdrop. Really nicely done.
Cheers

Hello Bev.
I couldn't have agreed more with the title you have chosen for this fine image. You have placed the railing beautifully overlooking this pristine view. The reflection on the lake is really breathtaking. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day.
