St Michael Mount
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Marazion is perhaps more widely famed as being the gateway to the enchanting St Michael’s Mount, “the jewel in Cornwall’s crown”. St Michael’s Mount is accessed by a causeway, once walked by pilgrims in honour of the alleged appearance of Saint Michael, which is revealed at low tide. At other times visitors are ferried from Marazion to the Mount in small boats.
On the way back from Land's End, we decided to make a quick detour to Marazion... The sky was fantastic. My only regret is no tripod...and my battery dying! Oh well! I will definitely go back again one day. |

Hello Leilani
Truly a wonderful location and a magnificent scene to photograph.
I do however feel that you choice of a vertical frame and composition looks a little "off".
I'm not saying anything looks bad, I just feel that some parts of the photo disturb the others.
The one thing I notice is how the amount of beach in the foreground seems to steal a little too much of the attention.
Personally I would try to add some more air in the top of the photo to maybe balance it slightly more.
Just my opinion...
Still, this is a marvellous photo and I am happy you shared it with us.

Hi Leilani,
I think the sky is wonderful and so illuminating. The strand line is also interesting but (to me) what is most important is the mount and the walker. Perhaps a longer focal length and a landscape theme would have centred your shot on the these two subjects.
Like Jarle said a wonderful image still..
All the best, Casper

Hello Leilani!
The framing including the lower part as a foreground was a good idea to present Saint Michel. Its nice to see that you've created interest to the foreground, making a nice composition with the mount. Of course that the person walking adds lots of interest as well, giving nice life to the scenery.
Regards,
Zeca
