Good Morning Everyone,
On our recent visit to Cornwall, we stayed near Tintagel, and, of course, visited Tintagel Castle. It is associated with the legends surrounding King Arthur and the knights of the Round Table. Because of this association, the village has, in recent times, become attractive to day-trippers, and tourists from many parts of the world, and is one of the most-visited places in Britain.
The castle itself is very much a ruin but its location is quite spectacular. It sits on a headland which is slowly being cut off, as the connection between it and the mainland becomes gradually eroded.
My shot shows one of the walls leading down towards the rocky cove. It was taken on a day with a mixture of sunshine and clouds
For more information, I will add a w/s here showing the steep climb to Tintagel Castle.
Have a great Sunday, from a very cold and windy N.W. England, Bev :-)

A spectacular location indeed. I like your POV along the rocky fence, lovely image.
Have a fine Sunday.

spettacolare veramente questo angolo di Cornovaglia con la brughiera che accarezza le coste e le rocce nude poco più in là.
Una bella attrazione naturale che hai preso in maniera eccellente con tanta nitidezza, bei colori ed una gradevole composizione.
Ciao e buona domenica

A very beautiful and stunning view! It looks indeed quite familiar. At least I recognize those stairs in the complementary picture. But it is already 25 years ago we visited this area.

Le regard suit naturellement le muret dans l'image qui traverse en diagonale et qui donne de la profondeur à la composition. La rive est rude et les vagues fortes. Le ciel donne un bel aspect dramatique à l'ensemble.

Recently there was a show on BBC-prime called "Shores" and it is actually a film taking a trip around England seashores.
I saw the part about Cornwall, and the view shown in your photo is exactly what was shown on TV.
DOF along the rocks, clear view of the rough terrain and the ntable wind on the grass, made this photo attractive and vibrant.
Have a nice evening,

This is a wild and beautiful and inspiring scenery and it doesn't matter that we don't actully see the ruin of the castle. With these rocks and the view of the sea it would be easy enough anyway to imagine all sorts of stories of life here hundreds of years ago. The wall forms a fine but uneven diagonal leading my eyes towards the sea, and as always the inclusion of some people makes it easier to understand the dimensions.

Mystical Tintagel, what a fabulous location Bev and whether seen in rain or shine it captivates the mind and soul. I love the rocky coastline of this part of Cornwall, it evokes thoughts of pirates, smugglers and all manner of magic too. You have used the stone wall effectively here leading the eye down to the rocky cove and the distant rugged cliffs beyond. The heavy sky and light play on the sea add to the beauty of your shot. Warm regards Rosemary

The wall running down leads our eyes well into that fascinating scenery of a wild coastline, full of cliffs and coves.
Despite the overcast sky we get a very clear view of this wonderful piece of nature.
The picture in the workshop shows a very spectacular climb. Wow!
Best regards, Paul

I know I mentioned it before, but even the name Tintagel summons up images of knights and wizaards, quests and magic. This is a beautiful coastal scene, and a great idea to have the wall composed like this as it leads perfectly into the overall frame, I like the hint of castle in the upper right too, makes to want to see more that building!
All the best

Beautiful coastline which seems to go on forever. Good POV along the wall which slopes down towards the sea. Lovely colours and tones in the stonework. Nice the way the clouds seem to be just sitting low to the land in the background.

what a beautiful vista and that stone wall is fantastic, imagine how long it took to build. But the wall lead the eye down to the sea, just as you intended. Excellent composition

A superb capture of the wild and rugged coastline with the old stone wall providing a fantastic lead in line with its diagonal placement enhancing the dynamism. It also adds superb diminishing linear perspective. Nice pastel colors and impeccable sharpness. A part of England I wish I had had the time to visit, but I packed quite a lot into the 9 weeks I did have! Tfs!

Dear Beverley, a lovely shot and good pov idea, I like that stoned made wall, an area of cliffs, it should be a nice place to walk and breath, high resolution, pleasant colors and light, about my photo, the mosquitos are active only during the end of the day and early morning, it was afternoon so no problem at this time, you should post some pictures of Pakistan, all the best, have a nice day

Nice use of the wall to create a lead line and provide depth. Love the composition with the light Fg and the darker cliffs behind - creates contrast and depth.

very impressive composition. The wall reminds me about the Hadrian's Wall which I still did not see. You have well used the wall here but the whole seascape is beautiful with very dramatic sky full of character.

Hello Beverley ,
This is a splendid view of this typical cornish coastal landscape . The perspective by the old stones wall is superb .
