Photographer's Note
One of the ruined steam pump houses at the Levant Mine at Trewellard, Pendeen near St Just in Cornwall, England. The mine, situated on the North Cornish coast was established in 1820 and was closed down in 1930. Tin and copper ore was mined and the shafts were sunk to a depth of 600 meters with tunnels running out for up to 2.5 kilometres under the sea.

Hello Brian ,
An other fine view of this interesting coastla place . It provides splendid subject for the photographer . Here , you've chosen to center the ruins : why not ? That works quite well in this case . The flowery landscape around it is superb .

Hello Brian,
The mixture of wild flowers makes a pleasing f/g statement and leads nicely to the derelict pump house. I just love to see how Nature recovers industrial sites, transforming them to beauty.
I like your selected viewpoint, which captures the building proud of the b/g, giving an impression of its stature. A very good dof, paired with lovely colour saturation.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

C'est étonnant de voir cette ruine industrielle au milieu de ce si beau paysage. Elle est en tout cas très photogénique et t'a permis de réaliser une splendide photo.

Hi Brian
It always stuns me that folks in those days thought it was ok to ruin the landscape by putting a filthy old mine on the coast like that. Mind you, the old pumphouse is pretty attractive as mines go, but sometimes I find it hard to understand their complete lack of regard for nature and aesthetics. Anyway, to your photo, which is a great capture of this historical old place, a nod to the industrial past and yet a photo that still manages to be extremely attractive despite the subject. I'm glad to see that nature has asserted herself again with that lovely profusion of flowers and colour. A beautiful shot, and historical document.
Thanks for sharing, have a great day

Hi Brian,
I think you centered too much the pump house in your composition. It's a shame because you had great colours with the blue sky, the green grass and the yellow and pink flowers. And sharpness is very good. Why not a vertical POV with the flowers in the foreground and the pump house in the background ?
Regards,
Olivier
