Good Morning Everyone,
This is the suspension bridge over the River Derwent at Portinscale. It is part of a scenic pathway linking Portinscale with the popular Lakeland town of Keswick.
It really is a strange experience to cross this bridge, for footsteps cause the bridge to vibrate and give the impression that a whole army of people are walking across. The first time I took my friend's dog across, he refused to move!! However, he was persuaded, eventually, to cross!
The view across the bridge, in this direction towards Keswick, is beautiful, with the hills of Skiddaw and Latrigg forming part of the background.
As you can see, on a sunny day, the shadows become another feature!
Have a great day, Bev :-)

Hi, Bev! Good morning!
I like to walk through the suspension bridges, it is like an adventure and amazing effect. I also like this photo, clever vertical composition. Good example of so interesting graphic and splendid colors.
Greetings from LA!

J'imagine vraiment quand beaucoup de personnes traversent ce pont, les vibrations doivent être intenses et on doit penser que le pont va lâcher....
Une belle perspective et la luminosité superbe et donc les ombres sont bien réalisées

the upright format works ever so well,as does the wide angle lens which you have used to good effect to capture a lovely view across the bridge.
The receding lines help to create a nice depth as well as giving the shot a good dynamic touch.
Kind regards Les.

looks like your trigger finger has moved Lakeland south. No worries I put a Greek shot in the UK recently. I have to admit I did think why have I never seen this bridge on my sojourns through Cornwall. I love your POV and perspective here it is most effective and the shadows add that really enticing element to the view. Execution is perfect as is the presentation.
Regards - B.

Lovely scene this bridge looks like it is linking us right into the natural beauty of the mountains. The natural colors and tones are very nice too, especially in contrast to the bright bridge.
Isn't it funny how steps effect bridges like this ! I have heard of some in the uk where troops marching across must march out of formation as the strong steps of sonny in unison can cause bridges to collapse. I had to laugh when I thought of your dogs expression as he refused to budge :)

Quand j'étais jeune il y avait un pont semblable près de chez nous et c'était toute une aventure de le traverser à pleine vitesse en bicyclette. Le point de vue donne de la profondeur à l'ensemble.

Hello Bev - Beautifully presented shot with excellent use of perspective to draw the viewer into the scene. The graphic lines of the pedestrian bridge combined with the strong shadows act as a good structure around which the softer landscape is contrasted. The small group of figures add to the narrative of the bridge.
Nicely managed with good colours and contrasts. I like what I see.

Good evening Beverly,
Hope those swings did not cause truble when taken this photo, the view acros show beautiful landscape, agreed upon what mentioned in the note.
There is always some problem taking photo from a bridge, any slight "wobble" can deteriorate the pic. sharpness - but managed super.

A good POV, the bridge adds an attractive form in the picture. The shadows contribute to the fine pattern. Also a very beautiful and impressive landscape further north. I looked at the Google street view and it is obvious that this bridge is a very popular goal for hikers. The road north of the river was filled with parked cars and recreational vehicles.

Ciao cara Beverley
una foto che denota un grande dinamismo con il particolare POV e le corde del ponte che disegnano archi nel cielo.
Bello anche il contrasto di colori tra il bianco del ponte e la quiete della campagna.
Ottima composizione e ripresa eccellente.
Ciao e buona serata

a good document of torsional movement of a suspension bridge. The most famous incident of that kind accurred on Nov 7th, 1940, starring Tacoma Narrows Bridge in Washington, U.S., also know as "Galloping Gertie". Hope your bridge won't collapse the same way!
Generations of students have been shown that movie, which in several versions is available at Youtube.
Hang tough, don't throw up!

Good point of view that uses the perspective lines of the bridge to drive our look to the mountains. When I saw the moutnains in the background, I couldn't imagine this picture was token in Cornwall but rather in Wales or Scotland.
Have a nice evening,

A wonderful composition which plays right into the hands of a highlight feature, the shadows. How's that for an oxymoron? :)
Super use of the graphic element which nature has provided by shining brightly over your scene. Drawn towards the distance with ease, the perspective is outstanding.
I've driven over a bridge that basically floats on the water, so I fully understand the feeling and trepidation of crossing something seemingly unstable. It sure makes one keep their wits about them however, right? lol
Bright, focused, detailed and carrying a idea of Spring time fresh air. Now, time to make the walk across...let's go! Enjoy the new day. All the best.

Great use of line, and pattern here. they create a nice linear perspective thus creating depth and your eye is led right through to that great blue sky.
Well done - enjoy your weekend.
