Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

This is the suspension bridge over the River Derwent at Portinscale. It is part of a scenic pathway linking Portinscale with the popular Lakeland town of Keswick.

It really is a strange experience to cross this bridge, for footsteps cause the bridge to vibrate and give the impression that a whole army of people are walking across. The first time I took my friend's dog across, he refused to move!! However, he was persuaded, eventually, to cross!

The view across the bridge, in this direction towards Keswick, is beautiful, with the hills of Skiddaw and Latrigg forming part of the background.

As you can see, on a sunny day, the shadows become another feature!

Have a great day, Bev :-)
