Padstow is a charming working fishing port where watching the everyday ebb and flow of harbour life is a perfect way to spend a day. Surrounded by glorious sandy beaches, no less than 7 bays are within a five minute drive, the town's gorgeous setting at the head of the Camel River Estuary and the natural beauty of the surrounding area – its rugged coastline, quiet coves and fabulous walks make it a must-visit. For foodies, Padstow is a dream destination as the town majors in fresh, locally produced food and is famous for the restaurants of celebrity chefs including Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth. Start and end point for the gorgeous Camel Cycle Trail, Padstow also makes a good base for exploring the South West Coastal Footpath, taking a boat trip or trying out various water sports including fishing, surfing and sailing. Nearby there's also unrivalled golf on the seaside links of St Enodoc and Trevose.

A fine composition featuring the harbour at Padstow. I like the point of view and the layered effect; the eyes move naturally up he frame taking in the different elements resulting in an image of great depth. The ambient light is very pleasant, bringing out the colours and detail to best advantage. I wish you and Gladys a good weekend.

a shot that sums up Padstow so beautifully. It is one of my favourite little Cornish havens and is especially magical in the middle of winter. Subtle and wonderfully placed elements that balance and make the industry of this little port so prominent. A superb execution and glorious presentation.
Enjoy the weekend - Brian.

What a very neat and pleasant composition this is with its two strong horizontal features and the well placed red details, as well as the blue boat and the white truck. It's like it was all laid out for a photographer to find the right POV, so many steps in this direction, maybe a few back the other way.

Hello Les - I'm back after a trip to Ireland and catching up with recent TE posts. I love this one from Padstow. Excellent horizontal lines both divide the shot into areas of detail and give depth and perspective to the shot. Beautifully balanced composition with attractive colour and detailing. Did you have fish and chips from Rick Stein's chip shop? warm regards Rosemary

I really like the way you framed it, with the two buckets in foreground, the little colourful boats and then the white truck. Light and colours are just great!
