Photographer's Note

Tresco is the second-largest of the Isles of Scilly, a beautiful archipelago of islands lying some 45 km off Land's End, Cornwall. But second-biggest is still quite small: Tresco is only about 4 km long and 2 km wide. Around 150 people are permanent residents of the island, mostly living in the twin settlements of Old and New Grimsby, on opposite sides of the island. Of course in the Summer the population is swollen by tourists. Apart from a little fishing and small-holding farming, tourism is the island's staple income.
I imagine the girl paddling in this photograph is a holiday-maker, enjoying the beautiful waters of the bay.
