Driving back from Launceston after seeing the floods all around there was an inky black sky but the sun was shining, sending out a very unusual light which can be seen in my picture.

The lighting certainly is strange isn't it. The brightness with the threatening sky is an odd, but often seen, fact of the British winter. The contrast between that sky and the incredibly bright light behind the tree is remarkable.
Hope you're not caught up in the floods yourself.

Yes, sometimes the light after storms and very heavy rain can almost seem surreal and you have captured that feeling perfectly in this fine photograph.
The light on the foreground grass and the flooded field is lovely and it also makes the old tree stand out magically against that inky and threatening sky. Lovely light and colours, good composition, perfect exposure and excellent details and sharpness.
Best Wishes for the New Year,

this very beautiful light and it makes the whole landscape almost sparkling. The layers of fields provide lovely background and the small houses on the horizon add also some attraction. Wonderful colors and perfect sharpness.
Well done and all the best for New Year!
