Photographer's Note
Built in 1887,Launceston Town Hall has recently re opened after extensive refurbishment.
Launceston Castle dominates the surrounding landscape. Begun soon after the Norman Conquest, its focus is an unusual keep consisting of a 13th century round tower built by Richard, Earl of Cornwall, inside an earlier circular shell-keep. The tower top is now reached via a dark internal staircase.
The castle long remained a prison and George Fox, founder of the Quakers, suffered harsh confinement here in 1656. A display traces 1,000 years of history, with finds from site excavations.

Hi Leslie,
Nice composition.
I like the details in the brickwork and the archway that leads the eyes towards the Town Hall with its lovely red accents.
Thanks for sharing!

Hello Les,
The old archway makes the perfect frame for the background tower. The tones and textures in the architecture are very nicely rendered under a pleasing soft light.

Hello Les,
I love the POV in this shot, and the arched frame made by the castle. The stones in both the town hall and castle are wonderful, and so are all the red accents on the town hall building. Great light management and exposure, too.

Hello Leslie,
With the rugged stone walls and the ruins of the castle providing the frame, you have created a classic image of town hall. I'm very happy to see the highly informative note. Unhappily, I have never been to Cornwall, and certainly not to Lauceston, but you make it appealing town.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Leslie,
This is a fantastic photo with the old stone arch framing the town hall and tower. The framing is wonderful directing our attention of the tower. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has fine sharpness and depth.
