Good Morning Everyone,
You may remember my previous post here which showed Little Moreton Hall, its path and entrance. This shot shows the view through the entrance, into the inner courtyard, where there is much more to see.
I hope you will be able to appreciate the irregularity of the structure, the decoration and the excessive use of glass, a real statement of wealth.
I will show, as a w/s, a testament to the creator of the windows. He must have been a very well respected tradesman or a personal friend of the Moretons, to have been allowed to advertise in such a prominent way
Can you imagine, horses or horse drawn carriages, emerging through this entrance and making a huge clattering noise as they travelled over the cobbled surface!
Thank you for sharing my love of old buildings.
I wish you a happy day, Bev :-)

Bonjour, chère Bev,
Ce passage sous voûte est une bien belle invitation à découvrir ce trésor architectural.
Un pur régal pour les amateurs d'architecture et d'Histoire.

You have used the entrance well to frame the inner courtyard and decorative structure of the building. Your three photos plus the imagery painted by your note is very much appreciated.

super execution here, so enticing and beautifully controlled. The detailing is amazing and who would not want to enter here and explore further. Irresistible!

I do like your imaginative presentation with good use being made of the doorway as a frame for the cobbled streets and those so attractive buildings .
A lovely collection.
There is a great deal to study and enjoy.

A very good one of these half timbered houses of the old village, still paved with cobblestones. The houses are really superb
I like the natural frame that you used
Have a nice day, best regards

Very beautiful and interesting houses again. Here you have added a very good frame for this pleasant view. The orange flowers add nice accents too. A fine w/s picture too.

I like this POV looking through the door and great use of the door frame to frame the picture of the courtyard. You managed the light very nicely, the elements inside the dark are still clearly visible with good details and yet not over exposed the courtyard. Excellent quality photo, congrats.

I like the way you introduce us in the stony yard, the houses seem to be very old and well decorated. The orange tulips give points of color in the B&W world. I also like the human presence.

Thinking of the post from yesterday, Beverly, it doe's give a small surprise when entering the complex. The sight is wonderful, the architecture's is unique and the place looks a whole diff. from the inside. A view under the lintel frame well the POV.
The WS also is enlightening about the subject.

I have never visited this Hall but heard a lot about it. I love the detail in the architecture and the unevenness that has developed over the years. Your view point gives a lovely sense of arrival to this interesting place.
Kind Regards, Ann

wow, what a catch! The use of the natural framing is great with the view through it. Those architectures at background are superb... I like the perfect light management and the depth you achieved. Excellent work. Tfs.

fantastiche architetture, incorniciate molto bene attraverso la porta.
Ottima la presenza del signore, crea un tocco di dinamicità, come i fiori, con i loro colori, ravvivano la scena.
Un luogo che mi piace.

I feel like I am in the first Harry potter movie, and that I am stepping into that street where the kids bought their first wands, te architecture is so strange, with a definite fairytale effect. this view is magical too, it makes the whole place seem very inviting, but does enhance that magical feeling, as the gateway gives the impression that this is "another" place, not your everyday mansion.
Fascinating scene, and one I am glad to see. As I mentioned on the last post from here, I cannot wait to see this place someday. Perhaps 2014 will be the year.
All the best

Love the way you set this up from the previous picture and your note to reinforce this one. It would have been an impressive sight on it's own without any additional framing, but your intuition to compose this in a manner using the entrance cover is sheer smarts! :) What a terrific way to lead into this image, I feel as if I'm standing right there, right on site...and it looks and feels as if I've stepped back in time. It has a sort of fairytale mood about it, the timbered construction and uneven design have a strong old world appeal. As you stated, or not so subliminally suggested :), I can also hear the clic-clac of a horse drawn carriage making its way over the cobbled courtyard. A pity the sky was dull, but it has in no way taken away from the beauty of this place, or your presentation therein. Bravo! Enjoy the day ahead.
Cheers from the other side of the pond,

Excellent framing with the entrance door.
Now this is a wonderful looking courtyard.
Stunning architectural details!
The cobblestones fit well in the entire image.
Best regards, Paul

What a marvellous place and indeed a fine piece of art, if I may say so. I like the framing you have achieved though the entrance (though I must say you could have cloned off the red switch box which takes away our attention a bit). The opulence of glass can be seen and thanks to your WS we can see details of it. This actually could be from any time in the past ...lovely how the beauty has been maintained.
