Photographer's Note

These pieces of stone are from some of the most important buildings of the Roman fortress. They include pieces of architrave, frieze and cornice. Some of the pieces belonged to an impressive entrance porch. Most of the stones were retrieved from the core of the North City Wall during repairs at the end of the 19th century. They also include semi-circular coping stones which may have come from the top of the parapet of the fortress wall.
