Photographer’s Note
Ely is a small city in the Cambridgeshire Fens (UK) and was the home of Oliver Cromwell. His house is now the tourist information centre.
Ely Cathedral is a magnificent structure that dominates the landscape as you drive along the A142 towards the city. I pass the Cathedral on the train and it is one of, my favourites views of all time.
It has a long history and I have posted a link to it below.

Hello Bridget,
I had made a 30 second visit to Trekearth when this lovely image rolled in. I remember Ely well; I did not know, however, that a favorite son was Oliver Cromwell. I thought from the colors of the leaves that Autumn was early this year, but I see that you had taken the photograph late in October of last year.
In your travels in this area have you visited Woolsthorpe, the village of Isaac Newton (1642-1727)? I have hung your St. Johns College bridge among my favorites, and indeed, it is now my favorite among my gallery of favorites.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Wonderful castles and great trees, forming a great composition. These lands must be fantastic, very different from anything we have in Brazil. One of my dreams is to get to know all of Great Britain. The nearest I've been to is Ireland.
