Photographer's Note
In the middle of the Cambridgeshire fen land it looked a bit like 'The Little House on the Prairie' from an old TV series but in very poor condition.Even the restoration team would despair looking at this one.
There are a lot of these old buildings in out of the way places just left to rot which seems strange when our government is making local councils build huge new estates on green land sites as there aren't enough houses for us all.

Emilius

Hello Marion,
I do enjoy the colours in this picture especially the blue doors against the reddish brown brickwork and field. It is also very well composed. It is a shame to see so many buildings left to rot but what great photos they make!
Excellent quality.
Kind Regards, Ann

Hello Marion, I do like your composition with the dilapidated building just off centre, the odd thing is that there appears a distinct shortage of windows! With a chimney at each end I guess this would have housed two families in its hey day.
A very well spotted capture that has a great deal of impact and much interest.
Regards Les.

Hi Marion,
this is really a sad sight but with a certain beauty; it is especially the harmony of the colors that makes this impression very attractive. The perspective is excellent! But what I like most is the perfect composition. My compliments!
Warm regards

Hello Marion,
Although the building in your shot is rather dilapidated, its unusual view and colorfulness make strong aesthetic effect. Very interesting scene, composition and note, very good quality!
Best regards,

Greetings, from a photographers point of view those dilapidated buildings are an artistic challenge for the restoration crew quite the opposite. There is a dramatic feeling to this image that comes from not wanting to let go.I am all for preserving it.Fine composition and colors.Best wishes,Wolf.

Hello Marion - Decaying buildings are a particular fancy of mine, as a subject they convey an incredible sadness and I always wonder about who lived in them and why they are now abandoned. This is a very good example, alone in the fields this once substantial house looks as if it may have been a farmhouse. The tarpaulin across the roof has seen better days and it seems as is nobody intends on restoring the place. Excellent detail in the building and a fine evocative shot. Have a lovely evening Rosemary
