Total occupation of the attention or of the mind:
engrossment, enthrallment, immersion, preoccupation, prepossession.
These boys were so engrossed in what they were doing they didn't even see me. How do you make a scooter go faster down a slide?,lets try this, and the lad underneath seemed to be doing some major repairs. The weather was bright but perishing cold and they didn't seem to notice that either.

A well spotted scene about the utter absorption by kids when they are in their element. All elements here with the two boys on the slide and the one underneath fully concentrated on his scooter, the geometrical forms of the slides and the fences, even the black and white approach, they work beautifully together.
have a great day

Pleasantly ordinary, in a good way! The monochrome gives the photograph a real feeling of street documentary, and the simple subject matter is entirely appropriate. What would they have said if they had seen you pointing your camera at them I wonder. Lucky they were indeed so absorbed in their activities!
