Photographer’s Note
A shot of the famous "CrookedTearooms" in Windsor, Yes it really does lean to one side but has stood for hundreds of years
Shot on "Tesco" 400 asa colour print film, used a polarising filter on a 19/35 mm lens
This fine old property developed its characteristic crookedness after being restructured in 1718 with unseasoned green oak. A secret passageway running from the basement to Windsor Castle, now blocked, was reputedly used for illicit trysts between King Charles II and his mistress Nell Gwynne. The tea rooms occupy two floors, with views of the Changing of the Guard from upstairs. Morning goods, light lunches, classic British dishes, Victorian-style afternoon teas and high teas are served, and a new development for April 2004 is baking on the premises, and extended pre-theatre opening. Teas, books, artworks and baked goods are available to buy.
