Photographers Note
Reactors no. 5 and 6, capable of producing 1000 MW each, planed for a Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant were under construction at the time of the famous accident of reactor no.4 on 26 April 1986. Reactor no. 5 was close to be completed at the time of the accident and was scheduled to start operating in the fall of 1986. However, it has since been abandoned; construction cranes still stand next to it to this day as you can see on my picture. Right now it`s sure that construction will never be completed but ukrainian government don`t have any idea what to do with this building-site.

Hello Andrzej,
this place scares me. Your picture is very interesting, it is amazing how nature doesn't care about radiations, the trees grow apparently without problems. Men don't.
What are you doing there? Go back home!

Witaj Andrzej!

An impressive site. Like great forgotten creatures in an extinct land. Striking photo of a haunting subject. Best, -Hugh
