Photographer’s Note

Continuing my short series around the centre of Lviv. Svobody prospect is the main grand buolevard where everyone gathers on a Sunday afternoon. It's lined on both sides by marvelous buildings, and leads up to the opera house at it's north end. (I've not a great shot of it, but I'll post as a workshop).

Tech, thanks Richard (merbp) for the tips on reduction in photoshop. I think this one, at last, looks sharp enough.

Yes Richard, this one seems pretty sharp to me. Lviv seems to be a beautiful city. I'm really enjoying discovering it through your eyes.

Nice shot of daily life against a grand background, with so much interest in the people and even horses I tried a workshop to reveal more detail. It doesn't change the original feel of the shot which I like to much.

A very pleasing, short series from Ukraine. I'm drawn to all the foreground activity. The B/W conversion has slowed down the pace of this shot I think, very relaxed, pleasant feeling to it.

It is interesting how B&W changes completely the atmosphere of the image, Richard - it looks as if taken some 20-30 years ago. It is a big plus how many people are there and they are not a distracting detail at the same time, because of the duo tones. Quite charming urban shot - very well done!

You are educating us about Ukraine. This one is simpler compared to yesterday's shot but what I like about this is the flurry of activities captured at the bottom. Another good shot.

On my screen - which is optimise for colours - this picture appears a little too dark in the foreground and right. Could it do with lightening but leaving the other parts as they are?
