Train Museum at Kruty Heroes Memorial, a photo from Chernihivska, East

Photographer's Note

Today, January 29, the Kruty Heroes Day is commemorated in Ukraine. The memorial place in the picture is situated near the Kruty railway station (Pamyatne Village in Borzna Raion of Chernihiv Oblast, about 20 km to the east from Nizhyn), where the Battle of Kruty between the Ukrainian cadet battalion and Russian Bolshevik Army took place on January 29, 1918.

In the picture you can see a part of the memorial’s crescent-shaped lake (there are other artificial lakes around the memorial, one of them being cross-shaped, see this bird’s-eye view), reconstruction of the train, which brought the young students to the battlefield and is now used as a museum, 10-metre red column topped with the coat of arms of Ukraine and the flag of Ukraine.

Hello Sergiy,

A lovely shot of the train museum showing these cars in vivid colors. I like the red column with the coat of arms which grabs the attention. Lovely lake in the foreground giving that peaceful atmosphere. Superb image with colors and sharpness.

A very unique museum, situated in a very real and certainly succeeds in conveying the facts that occurred in the past.
The composition is great with this triple curvature, which gives us the lake, the green hillside and the convoy itself.
Beautiful colors of the same, which gives a good chromaticism to the image, which has a wonderful lightness and sharpness.
