Photographer’s Note
First photo from my trip to Eastern Europe with my brother driving.. We drove in total 5,500 km and from Switzerland we drove through Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Romania to our final destination Ukraine and passing through Hungray, Slovenia and Italy on the way back...
It was GREAT experience to drive in these countries.. Italy, Slovenia and Hungary with first class road while in other countries a bit less 'first class'. It was also fun overtaking horse carts in Romania... and overtaking on double line and driving through red lights in many of these countries...
It was hard getting used to more 'normal' way of driving after the trip!!
Here we are heading toward the Hungarian border with dark clouds awaiting us. As I was driving my brother took this shot. As you can see we overtaking where it was continious white lane.. thank god it wasn't in switzerland :-)

Hi Bala,
Its always nice to see your pictures, just to wonder what may have influenced you to take the picture - I see this was taken by your brother though - tut tut! ;) I wonder what the Bala sparkle might have been... You can tell your brother, ;) as it stands, I think it is quite cool, but since he :o) took it out of a car, I would like to have seen some of the car, so the blur would be self-explanatory... I guess it is actually quite obvious, but a hint of some wipers might have been quite a nice addition too...
take care, kajal
(ps - sorry - points have been switched off)...

Wow, Bala, this must have been an extraordinary journey and I'm looking forward to see the what you've captured on the road. Of course this having been taken by your brother, I can't really say "you" have a good pov here, can I? Anyway, seems like adventurous driving, a luck you came back alive and well. I like the heavy cloud in here. Rain ahead, there's always rain ahead...

must have been quite a journey (i mean the non(boring)-highway part), i remember many a car trips in my younger years, i do miss them.. i like the grittiness here with the gloomy cloud and the dirty old zil, very "eastern european".. looking forward to more...

Salut Bala,

Strong and dark atmosphere. I hope the journey was not that dark !!
An excellent frame here, with a great perspective and moves, driving the eye to the far east !!

Hello Bala,
bonne ambiance de road movie ici !
J'aime le flou sur ce camion et le temps gris.
On pourrait croire à une course poursuite :)
Mais vous n'aviez pas le droit de dépasser la ligne blanche continue :)
Bien vu, a+

Privet Bala,
Long time no see, kak dela ?
I see you've been travelling a bit, this is not your best photo but is shows the overtaking action and the habit of writing the license number in big on the trucks, an old habit that survived since the USSR to ease the identification job of the GAI officers.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves
