Going from a small city Reni to Izmail, another small city on the very south of Ukraine, you pass a bridge through a big lake Yalpug and shortly after the bridge you will see that steppe.

I've been driving from Starokozatchne (boundary pass with Moldova) down to Bilhorod and I've seen something alike. It's wonderful, even when the weather is poor, when the mist covers the ground and when you see nothing but the darkness of a night.
Your colours are great though, it resembles a bit highways somewhere in Arizona or Nevada ;)
