Waiting for the newly wed, a photo from Odeska, West

Photographer's Note

"Waiting for the bride and groom is so-o-o boring. And the adults only have eyes for the little kids who don't even know how to behave properly. And nobody seems to care that I look like an angel".

This is the third and guaranteed last time I show a picture from an Odessa wedding, taken during the weekend I spent in the city by the Black Sea last September. I can't find myself reflected in the red-haired woman's golden dress but I can see parts of central Odessa on her dazzling behind.

In two workshops I follow up the procedures.

Hej Gert,
This is a very funny picture with a lot of interesting details. The most funny detail must be the reflection of the photographer at a certain place! But the children don´t look too happy, being dressed up like grown-ups. I recognize the tile pattern in the flooring...

The scene looks quite comical with the kids appearing like a miniature version of the bride and groom and sulking each other on their wedding day.

This is definitely an interesting scene, and while some people might focus on the adorable children, I was instantly drawn to that shiny, gold dress! I think that woman was trying to get noticed. :-) The reflections that you were able to capture in her rear end are very amusing. The children are cute as well. :-)

Oh I had a good laugh with your notes....well said. The little angel really does look superb I must say; her golden hair curled beautifully, flowers adorning it, and the feathery wings, wow! The two little brats at her side really must bore her to tears! As to the shiny dress; well you said it all. First rate photography here and in both workshops; caught on the fly I am guessing. I am taken by how similar in many ways this sort of wedding is to those in Canada for example, but I am thinking maybe more "over the top" in Ukraine! Well worth the upload as was the case with the early ones. Good fun and great photos, warm regards,

I just wish that, as well as marking your note as "useful", I could also mark it as "hilarious"! The thought of you peering to see if you could catch a vision of your reflection in that woman's backside nearly had me in tears!

But, oh, what a wonderful capture this is of so many human emotions! The angel on the left, bored out of her mind but feeling superior to her younger cousins; the little girl with her basket looking disdainfully at her brother and perhaps commenting upon the fact that he's borrowed his father's suit for the wedding; the lady in 24-carat gold polythene. Fabulous! And, you know something - look at that fellow on the right in the blue shirt looking downwards - I bet you anything that he's sending or receiving a text message on his mobile 'phone!

Oh, Gert, let's have more of these. I shall not tire of these shots!

Hello Gert,

I see the young lady is exactly not agreement with the small boy, we see the face is not so perfectly.
Also the lady in yellow gold makes reflections, we see the buildings!
Excellent composition, sharpness and clarity are nice for look at.

Hello Gert, would it be wrong of me to suggest that it was the reflection that first caught your eye & not the expression & poses of the children, in particular the two together who appear to be at odds over something. What attracted you in the first place is not important what is, is that you have captured a lovely scene that is interesting & I think a little amusing.
