The wedding photographer, a photo from Odeska, West

Photographer's Note

During the weekend I spent in Odessa last month there were lots of people celebrating their marriage in the streets in the centre of the city. The newly married couples provided many photo opportunities.
In this particular case I was mainly fascinated by the woman running around the couple with a movie camera, shooting them from every possible angle.
You would never guess what happened a few seconds later. Getting curious? Then take a look at the workshop.

Nice one! And different from our culture where all this is mostly indoors. And yes, the photographer is getting my attention too. Maybe because I feel like I might be nervous doing her job....what if I mess up? Well, you had me going about the workshop. I was really expecting something different; something tragic. Hello Gerd. Photographers and videographers for wedding couples. This is now standard. The most beautiful day of your life will be held. And the wedding couple must always posing. Hi Gert,

Without the photographer, the would have been a very romantic wedding photo for the couple. Samething in China, everywhere we go there seems to be some happy couples getting there photo taken.

Two very good pictures, one a typical TE "daily life" scene with an added feature of another photographer (but also with some minor faults). The other picture is perfect but without the necessary TE touch. So you made the right thing here.

Hi Gert, I also saw many wedding couples in Ukraine, sometimes in folk dresses - quite interesting. It is great fun to observe such photo sessions, they are often very stupid. And now you can see it everywhere in the world. Nice photos - this one and surprise :).

Hello Gert,

From an initial assessment of the situation, I reckon that you have here (together with your wonderful workshop picture) two images which will far surpass anything taken by the cinematographer running circles around this romantic couple.

Apart from a little noise, this one is perfect, with wonderful sidelighting on the bride's dress and excellent detail in her veil. You have also captured the lady with the video camera superbly - a decisive moment indeed! The workshop picture, of course, is sheer romance.

exept that the feet of the photographer is cut, this is a good picture,where all the details of the white dress are well visible, and where the light is very nice.You have captured a very beautiful expression of the 2 lovers.

Hello Gert, Of course I'm curious, how romantic, it is a wedding after all. On my last trip to Europe I saw at least three weddings, I thought it must have been the mating season ;-) Nice capture, lovely moment is well captured, pity about the photographer though ;-)

actually, I always find it interesting to watch bröllopsfotografen (which reminds me of the movie of the same title) :) You have to be quick to capture such a scene!

You're capturing well this fascinating scenery by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's impressive and happy to see wedding scene of this young couple. You catch well this romantic spectacle. Wedding photographer seems so busy by catching various scene of happy couple. It's interesting in the contrast of formal wear of couple and casual ones of photographer, too.

Vous faites de très intéressants portraits. Il n'est pas toujours facile de photographier les gens et vous le faites très bien, en intégrant de petites histoires. Celle-ci ne fait pas exception, même si elle est prévisible :)
Belle composition, grande netteté et la lumière éclaire bien les sujets. Beau travail.

I have a laid back attitude towards many things but have always thought there should be a dress code for wedding photographers. Your picture is lovely and intersting, has great natural colours and delightful atmosphere; you've managed the light and shade very aptly. The most attractive and intriguing feature is the expressions of the three heroes, very individual and eloquent.
