Photographer’s Note
The wonderful yet decaying downtown is all about 3-4 storey buildings with inner yards, also called "wells" as once inside you find yourself surrounded by the walls and looking up to see the sky. There is something decadent, but also very homey about such wells - hanging clothes to dry, furniture too old to keep inside, but too dear to throw away, neighbors that quarrel and share tea just like a family…
