Photographer’s Note

The 'famouse' 4th block of ChAES (Chernobyl Nuclear Station) and its less famouse surroundings:

The grey building in the left: the second building to store nuclear waste (the first one, built by French specialist, was projected with faults and for safety reasons not used).

The monument at the center is for those who dies building the sarcophagus around the ruined 4th block.

The grey building at the center is the sarcophagus itself. The yellow elements on it are the parts of the new 2nd sarcophagus, which will cover the 4th block much safely.

The yellow building at the right side is a recently built informational center for visitors. To protect people, there are think lead walls inside.

The normal level of radiation is ~20mkR. Around the monument the level is 400-600mkR, and rapidly growing with each step you're getting closer towards ChAES. So, it's not recommended to stay there for minutues, only seconds to take a photo.
