Photographer’s Note
Saint Sophia (meaning Holy Wisdom) Cathedral in Kiev (Sobor Sviatoyi Sofiyi or Sofiys’kyi sobor), is an outstanding architectural monument of Kievan Rus', one of the city's best known landmarks and the first Ukrainian patrimony to be inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The Cathedral is the main component the National Sanctuary "Sophia of Kiev" the state institution responsible for the preservation of the Cathedral complex. The first foundations were laid in 1037 Yaroslav I the Wise. The exterior faced with plinths, interior is decorated with mosaics and frescos of XI c, including a dilapidated representation of Yaroslav's family, and the Virgin Orans. Originally the cathedral was a burial place of the Kievan rulers including Vladimir Monomakh, Vsevolod Yaroslavich and Yaroslav I the Wise. In 1740 the Cathedral was completed to its present form. Names of such prominent Ukrainians as Peter Mogila (Mohyla) and the Cossack Hetman Ivan Mazepa are connected with the cathedral’s history. On 2007, the Saint Sophia Cathedral was named one of the Seven Wonders of Ukraine.

Nice photograph, interesting pov and subject. The lens distortion appears to be fairly evident in this - or else the spires are crooked somehow? Never the less, it is a place I wouldn't mind seeing myself!

It's cool, with the lens distortion it seems that the cathedral struggled to fit in your picture. Nice.

Hallo Sergiy!
A breathtaking sight of an incredible building! I like the many many details one can detect here. Unfortunately the distortion disturbs a bit here. You should avoid it by PP.
Neverthteless - a most impressive photo!
Greetings from cold and sunny Germany!
