Photographer’s Note
I`ve posted this shot already, but I was so impressed by the workshop one of the members posted, that I decided to display it with better final result.
This picture shows Chersonesos which was an ancient Greek colony founded approximately 2500 years ago in the southwestern part of the Crimea, known then as the Taurica. The colony was established in the 6th century BC by settlers from Heraclea Pontica.
The ancient city is located on the shore of the Black Sea at the outskirts of Sevastopol.
The ruins were excavated by the Russian government from 1827. They are today a popular tourist attraction, protected by the state as an archaeological park.
The buildings mix influences of Greek, Roman and Byzantine culture.
On this picture You can see the defensive wall which is hundreds of meters long. Buildings include Roman amphitheatre and a Greek temple.
The weather was excellent :) I recommend Crimea for a holidays!
Regards!

Very nice image, with excellent colour saturation and brightness.
Well done.
I like the view of the Church "through the frame" of the ruins, it's a good idea, added to the good composition, leaving some space on the left for the light of the sky.

you have an interesting frame but your frame seems to be over sharpened a little . Jim

Hi Patryk -I haven't seen the original, but I really like this one, clever way to frame the church, the weather was dull overcast when I visited Cherson, really the only attraction in Sevastopol.
