Photographer’s Note
Village of Giyivka (now it is a part of town of Lyubotin) was the first stop during our two-day bike trip over old Ukrainian estates in Kharkivska oblast (province). They are located mainly along the line of 50° in latitude, between Kharkiv city and urban village of Krasnokutsk (the westernmost regional administrative center in the oblast).
St. Mikolay church (1843) is only building that remains from the big estate of Sviatopolk-Mirsky princely family (Dmitry Ivanovich, Nikolay Ivanovich, Pyotr Dmitrievich and Dmitry Petrovich Mirsky). Other buildings of the estate are situated on the opposite bank of the Merefa River. The main building (palace) was used as a club-house (palace of culture, as such institutions were called during the Soviet period). It was severely damaged by a fire several years ago and needs thorough repairs.

Hello Sergyi,
A good framing well selected. Good managment of light too, th white color of the church arise in the image. The peoples give an interetsing element of life and an idea of the scale of the edifice.
Have a nice Sunday,

Hello Sergiy,
There could not be better sky and light to put forward the whiteness of this splendid church. A pleasant framing and the presence of faithful makes the image very pleasant. Good realization, cheer.

Hello Sergiy,
You profited a good sun ray to give a good contrast here to the photograph and to emphasize this beautiful church well on this cloudy sky. Architecture interesting and thank you for the instructive note.

Bonjour Sergiy.
Cette église posée là comme au milieu d'un champ a très belle allure. J'aime ce ciel gris qui met en valeur les couleurs délicates de l'édifice. La lumière est douce, du beau travail !
Bonne semaine !

Hi Sergiy,
Again: very surprising architecture. Your postcards really help us to discover new unknown world.
Very pretty presentation, especially the dark sky is a great background for the white church.

Hello Sergiy!
Well, long time no see! I hope you had a good holiday! And thank you for your wishes on my 3 years on TE! As I say, I just hope there will be many more!
I just love the gallery of Ukrainian churches you are offering us, and this is another elegant one of very pure oriental style. You managed the bright white without over-exposure! Well-done!
I also looked at the other photos of your two-day cycling trip, and you certainly collected a good basket of interesting images!
Thank you for sharing and talk to you soon!
Best regards.
marie Louise.
