Photographer’s Note

Another shot of Lavaux vineyards. The sky was clearing but eastern end of Lake Geneva kept under thick clouds providing contrasty light.

Swiss vineyards are typically on sunny lower mountain slopes facing lakes or river valleys. With around 800 hectares Lavaux is the biggest wine producing region. Wines are excellent, although not world famous. And the reason is that the Swiss prefer to drink it themselves, very little remaining for export.

Excellent shot of this golden landscape. Your composition is fine using the slope of the mountain to create a good diagonal through the shot. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The dark background provides excellent contrast to the brightly lit foreground.

very fine gold-captured vineyards, on of the most shown objects in these days (includes myself although), very fine pov and in combination with the dark seaside a pretty one..

Hello Kari.
The vineyards of the Lake Geneva are famous because people says on the lake shine two suns: one of them is in the sky, the other one is reflected by the lake.
This picture explains it.
A really golden light.

This really is one of the most beautiful pictures I've ever seen!! I love the scenery and the lighting and colors are awesome. Very good composition.

Hei Kari,
I have been waiting for these vineyard photos since you told me you visited in Switzerland. The light in this photo is really good and it brings the beautiful golden colors of the vines up really clearly. That dark sky is also great and it makes a good contrast.
This area have also been in my "places to go" list in a few years.

A beautiful shot of Lavaux vineyards. The golden vines nicely contrast to the dark sky and lake. The light is superb. You have composed the photo very well too. I like the geometry of the vine rows in the foreground. A good TE contribution. I take you tasted some Chasselas of Lavaux too? ;)

I like the composition with these vineyards and these line in different directions and the contrast with the lake and the sky in nearly the same blue tones.Great depth ,too.

Wonderful lighting, the distant thick clouds make this golden color stand out further. Marvelous shot.
By the way, Swiss wines are not so known in Japan, too.

Hello.
The vineyard in the foreground is a sharpness exciting. In the patchwork secondary on the mountain is just as wonderful. The trees that overhang seem the magma ready to overwhelm everything. And finally, sky and sea merged into a single color. Congratulations

you really hit the target!
The golden light that lits the yellow vineyards contrasts wonderfully with the darker lake and sky creating an effect like it was emerging from nowhere. So bright and clear.

You've got the best light here. The ray of sunshine to bring out the rich golden tones of the vines contrasting against a dark, foggy background. I live the angles created by the rows of vines, their sharpness and how they create depth.
