Autumn in the Jura Photo

Photographer’s Note

I thought I’d take a break from the vineyards today to post a different autumn scene. Taken close to the banks of the River Doubs which marks the Swiss-French border, this view unfolded as I was walking along. The rugged limestone cliffs are typically of the Jurassic landscape, and with the autumn colours in abundance, this is one of my (many) favourite places to go walking at this time of year. Annoyingly, there were two cars and a caravan parked prominently in view. I tried avoiding them by changing my pov but this was not so pleasing, so in the end I chose this version and just cloned them out.

Hi Susanna
How are you surviving the snow ? It finally didn't make it this low although I can see the snowline opposite in France. The autumn colours are really pretty against the stark white rock. It's nicely framed by the branches and shadow and the hidden hut creates a focal point. I wouldn't guess you cloned anything out if you didnt say so. Good job.

Limestone cliffs looks really great with this autumn colours. I like the sharpness of your photo and the whole composition with these branches framing the photo.

Saison des couleurs chatoyantes, du crépitement des feuilles qui tombent, de la cueillette des champignons ou des mûres... L'été est fini, mais l'automne est si beau ! Au royaume du symbolisme, la saison est rayonnante...tout comme cette très belle composition.

Dear Susanna,
What a great festival of colours, you found really a wonderful spot, but also the light is more than just good. The wave on the grass, mixed up with light and shadow. The colourful trees and the softer blue from the sky works very good here, just as those leaves on top who make it a very nice natural border around it...i really like this one, very good work.

Beautiful framing and a very beautiful vegetation. Love the green carpet of grass and the colorful trees. Very good POV. The descending sloop towards the right angle made this shot worth watching. very good use of frame.

Je n'ai pas encore trop profite de l'autonne qu'il est pratiquement terminé, l'hiver arrive .
En tout cas c'est une belle image, avec une bonne palette des couleurs

Quel spectacle merveilleux l'automne quand les rayons du soleil illuminent la scène. Le contraste des couleurs est alors saisissant. Au photographe d'exploiter la situation !
