My 100th picture: Evolution? Photo

Photographer’s Note

My 100th picture on TE, if I look to my firs picture and this one there is nothing similar...what can I say? A lot of things certainly. One of them that it has been a really good thing to dyscover this place to share photographie and travels, and to try to improve my skills on photography. One thinking that I have in photography, after all this time past in TE, is that is necesary to ask my self what I'm doing, how, and why. Then I say me,...you have to change or to make an evolution. Not to forgot what I have did it, but to look for news challengs. Then...I present you a new kind of picture, the first time that I have used flash and a tripod to take a photo, and a long exposure with poor light.
News experiences...but I will follow with my mountains pictures too ;-)

The picture is took on the stairs that goes from "Flon" to "Chauderon" in Lausanne. is a very impressif place with all this graphities and tags, a place almost unreal.

Tu vois le temps passe vite et puis on découvre de nombreux autres sujets et domaines d'intérêt sur ce site. C'est donc reparti pour 100 nouvelles images.

Enhorabuena por tu foto nº100 Javier,y enhorabuena por la reflexion en la nota,la esperimentacion,y el resultado.
Cierto que parece casi irreal,de pelicula futurista con civilizacion subterranea incluida...
Muchos y nitidos detalles en las paredes a pesar de la poca luz,buena perspectiva de la escalera con varios niveles,y la persona difuminada le da algo de movimiento[aunque he de decir tambien que le da un efecto extraño a su cara,como de Scream o Alien..:)]Me gusta la eleccion de la nueva direccion,me gustan este tipo de fotografias(y tambien las de montaña..).Una foto intrigante.

Salut Javier,

Une photo tres interessante pour un 100eme posts. D apres ta note, je vois que tu as fait une photo tres technique. Le resultat est a la hauteur. Il y a une reelle ambiance et les couleurs des tags est vraiment attirant pour le regard. Un tres bon sujet de photo.
La personne floue en bas de l escalier, c est toi ou seulement un passant?

Well said Javier. I like this shot, the diagonal lines drew my eye down to the lower floor and the person standing there, your slow shutter speed makes the person look so mysterious. There's a combination of feelings here, the bright colors of the graffiti are actually a bit cheerful and whimsical looking and then the crumbling worn-down building underneath that same graffiti and the figure at the bottom of the stairs are a bit mysterious and dark. I enjoy this!

Una imagen muy especial para celebrar la foto-100, me gusta el colorido y la decadencia del edificio en contraste con la ornamentación grafitera. En este caso el uso del flash está perfectamente justificado y queda muy atenuado por la decoración.

Felicidades amigo Javier y que cumplas muchas más.

Félicitations pour tes 100 photos Javier. Celle-ci te fait honneur. Elle est originale et bien construite, avec une atmosphère un pleu glauque, renforcée par ce fantôme unijambiste :O

Déjà 100? Que le temps file... ;-)
L'évolution est notable, avec cette photo. Elle signe l'ouverture à l'exploration de nouveaux cadres, de nouvelles façons de travailler, de nouvelles possibilités.
Heureuse d'avoir pu participer à cette évolution!

Hola Javier... Pues estoy de acuerdo, evolucionar o morir, aunque eso sí, volviendo de vez en cuando al origen, como Escarlata O´Hara a Tara. Respecto a esta foto, me gusta mucho el ambiente que nos muestra, la figura da mucho misterio, parece un momento de "M-El vampiro de Dülsserdof" versión punkie. Muy curiosa. Este edificio me recuerda al Tagelles en Berlín ¿lo conoces?
Bueno chavalín del monte, mañana me voy a la montaña. Saludos.

D'abord mes souhaits pour plein plein de centaines de plus ici:-).
Puis je trouve cette image très intéressante et avec un énorme impact visuel ! J'aime beaucoup les coloris et cette silhouette floue (un de mes dadas), presque inquiétante, la lumière un peu dure et très belle, le graphisme crée par l'escalier. Je trouve ça formidable que tu essaies plein d'autres choses et en plus ça te réussit ! Compliments et bonne continuation Javier.

It's a somewhat unexpected mix of architecture you show here, of some ancient castle and modern metro surroundings and that's what makes the picture interesting, plus of course the well placed person with the low shutter speed motion.

Congratulations on your 100th post. This is an intriguing shot that has a strange and mysterious sombre tone despite the brightly coloured grafitti. The person moving also adds to the the mystery. Very nicely done.

Great choice of photo for your 100th. I like when people try new things and experiment with new styles. That is how we evolve, like your title states. The colors of the graffiti are captured very well. Great use of flash. The lighting is very interesting. Congrats on 100.

Hi Javier,

since I'm great fan of underground places, I must give compliment to this small series of yours. This one is simply wonderfull, so alive due to many drawn walls, a place of ghost artists, presented through captured silhuette in motion. The only still life here are faces on walls, observing every movement of different passers. The face of this one is scary... Capture of most intriging place but with a touch of slight uncomfort and isolation. Simply wonderful!

D'abord bon anniversaire Xavis et bien sur merci pour cette délicate et sombre dédicace.... Voilà un essai fort bien réussi et je suis d'ailleurs surpris car on ne voit pas vraiment l'utilisation du flash... Perso je ne l'utilise jamais de peur de me retrouver avec une image trop pale, alors que celle-ci est parfaite quant à la gestion de la lumière... La silhouette apporte un plus et j'aurai aimé avoir une précision : Je rêve ou ce personnage porte le masque du film "scream" ?
En tout cas félicitations pour celle-ci et à la prochaine sur ta prochaine centaine....

A great anniversary photo for your 100th post, Javier.
Excellent volumes placement in the frame and perfect exploitation of the light conditions, gave a result which wakes up different feelings.
The blur figure of the man is the special touch that makes the all situation even more dramatic.

Dans quel monde souterrain et coloré tu nous entraînes!
Le POV à l'angle de l'escalier est excellent, de même que cette silhouette de fantôme qui hante l'endroit.

i indeed can see that you where inspired by Seb. a this in a compliment because i love the work he make and it is not easy to get it. you realy have to know how to include the diferent features on the composition and the light is very important. you did both good t my opininon.
