Photographer’s Note

Crossing an ice lake in the region of Ovronnaz, in Valais. We were going to Dent de Morcles, a beauty summit with a great view of the Alps, with 360° of view. From the top you can see the Mont Blanc, The Grandes Jorasses, Le Cervin, la Dent Blanche, L'Eiger, le Monch, le Jungfrau, etc, etc...and also the Leman Lake.

Hello Javier,
good composed winter scene of beautiful, a bit ascetic nature. I think the composition is very good but may be there is a problem with the white balance. The snow in the sunny part in my oppinion seems with suggestion of yellow. I do the same error too with the exposure of snow. Anyway, good job.

A plce which, with sand instead of snow, could be Algeria or some place in the Sahara. The human figures are perfectly places in the frame

Mucho tiempo ha pasado desde que nos visitamos por última vez, hermosa foto, la verdad, y además con nieve, algo que se está convirtiendo en un exotismo aquí en España (acabo de volver de Picos de Europa y ni jota de color blanco)... Toda una foto.

Très bonne idée cette prise de vue. Les nuage au dessus de la plaine créent une belle ambiance.
C'est vrai que la vue du sommet est grandiose.

Hi Javier,

I'm surprised to see it's Valais! I wouldn't have expected such vast emptiness there. quite a bit of tracks, but not that many fresh ones, so it's not visited by that many people.
I just love the light, the rocks to the left and the gradual blue. Very nice work!

Salut Javier,

Excellent capture and very good light usage on harsh white while circular polarizer helping too. I like great contrasts between sky and snow and you really caught a right moment for beautiful shape of clouds. Visitors and their tracks are very nicely added. Congratulations.

Salut Javier,

Vraiment beau ce point de vue. La cuvette du lac, la trace de montee, les ombres des cretes qui partagent l image en 2 dans la diagonale, les rochers au soleil a gauche et les nuages barnusiens qui ferment l horizon a droite. Tout est reunis pour une belle photo d ambiance de ski de rando.
Elle a vraiment l air sympa cette sortie.

Hola Javier! Muy bien compuesta la foto! El sitio, desde luego, es impresionante! Todo un desierto, como bien dices. Me gusta que hayas colocado a tus compañeros a la izquierda, porque uno nos lleva al otro y este a la línea de esquís en diagonal y de ahí exploramos el paisaje. Es una pena que haya tanta sombra, pero la parte derecha queda muy bonita con la luz destacando las formas.
