A shot taken late in the evening in the inner courtyard of the Basel City Hall, here we see the statue of the city's founder, Munatius Plancus, pointing with his sword at the big clock, I found this "gesture" funny and philosophical, as if this Roman warrior from 44 BC wanted to turn back the time, to fight the invincible...
Don't forget to turn back the time today! At least for one hour... :))

The light in here is simply amazing. The statue stands out perfectly over the dark background with great depth. Also, the clock is very well lit and very well placed in the composition. Well done.

I like the understated colour contrast, between the yellow helmet, & overall blue colour tones in the remainder of the image. Well seen & tfs!

Excellent work...some space above the clock may be better...

The two main subjects of the clock and the statue stand out well against the beautiful murals in the background. Until reading your note I thought this was some kind of re-enactment as the statue looks so life-like. Well handled exposure in the dark place. Well done

très belle gestion de la lumière dans cette photo. Les teintes ressortent bien et le graphisme de l'ensemble me plait beaucoup. Bravo

A well seen composition. Your exposure is really good in this subdued light, and the brass pieces stand out beautifully against the muted colours. I like the fact that one can see beyond, through the windows and doors.
By the way, I just caught up with your new intro, and appreciate some of the points you make there about TE. I remember your mentioning the Lomo previously, and looked it up on the net. I've noticed some Lomo shots on TE, but not sure if they're the same camera.
Anyway, enjoy the rest of your Sunday. It's nearly over here.

No matter how we try to fight to turn back the time, it is to no avail... What's left to us? To turn back the clocks for at least one hour! :)) But, here in Canada, that will have to wait for another week. :)
During that "time", let me look at your photo for a moment. Obviously, what is the true asset of the photo is how you have framed it. The "thing" (what is the name of that, - blank -) in the hand of Munatius (! like if he was my friend!) seem indeed to point towards the clock. And if you had been even luckier, the hand (I hope it is the right word) of the clock would have been pointing in his direction as well... But since I don't even know if this clock is actually functioning...
Have a good week. Don't try to fight back time. It is a waste... of time! :)))

excellent exposure to show all those dark details and a friendly reminder. You achieved good clarity and sharpness here. The gold is outstanding.

Richly detailed wall, I had no idea one could find such over there. Higher viewpoint works well. Good balance between the soldier and clock. Wall is darkish, but works well against golden highlights.

The colours look great and the golden helmet of the warrior stand out very well amid the dark colours of the background. Good perspective and balanced image. Details are fine and the theme is very interesting. Thanks :-)

If there is a photo that is entirely designed to please the eyes of the viewer - it should be this one...
Just by the color arrangement itself - it creates the atmosphere of this place...
These two diagonal points of interest - a statue and the clock...
What a magnificent combination of grace...!!!
Those moments of total enchantment - let them stay forever...

Mooi detail. Ik vind mooi hoe het beeld likt deel uit te maken van de muurschildering en lijkt to leven gekomen te zijn en zich los gemaakt te hebben.
