Waking up on our second day in Zurich with a slight hangover and tired legs from the street parade, we decided to get a bus to Rapperswil and get the boat back, which ended up being a pretty boring trip as the lake doesn't differ too much as you go along it.

The afternoon was spent in front of this diving board which is located in the heart of Zurich on the river, where a crowd of about 200 or so people had gathered to clap on the locals.

What an unusual picture...

beautiful,
love the -ve space.. very unusual.. and quite like me ...B&W is perfect..

great image.. no other words

Hi Brendan, this is a beautioful picture, the compo is excellent with all this grey, so empty and so effective on my eyes.
This is a clever shot and the upside down man is the cherry in here.
Great !

Hi Brendan, a nice idea for a minimalistic shot... Clicked at the right time... I like this one better than some of your previous shots of Switzerland, it seems to mee that you were quite shy while in Switzerland and pained to get close to your subjects, some intimacy is missing for me, you should post the ghosty one from Flickr, a winner I think... I know that Switzerland is not that exotic and people rather cold and not so happy to be photographed (privacy please) so I can understand, but it seems that you were a bit far from the subjects when you took the pictures... There is a good remedy, put a 35 fixed lens or avoid using your zoom beyong 35 or 50mm... Hope you don't mind...

Yan

Minimalistic composition as brave, as the leap itself. Love this lonely little cloud fulfilling composition. Great scene. Greetings T.

Hi Brendan.
fred

Hello, Brendan--
i like what you did here, using a minimalistic composition and emphasizing the blank space of the sky, making it feel as if he's surrounded by such emptiness, yet has thrown himself from the lone point of safety.
Thanks!
sam

This is a great photo Brendan. The vignetting is super and that gray background really casts a very special mood into the scene. The recorded jump is perfect, but what I really like is the space in the picture. Very good!

Beautiful graphism at work here, Brendan. Ya know, you really have a falir for original sports photography...a gift!
Cool vignetting n the corners, eh?

Image so bizarre in its appearance, but
technically perfected - can't but not to
smile as because I'm so pleasantly surprised!
Works superbly in b/w.
Congratulations on creating an illusion so strong,
Robi

Hi Brendan,
This photo is simply just eye candy. The simple B/W sky with a platform poking up in the bottom left is sweet. Great freeze of the guy with this guy going head downwards into God knows what.

Regards,
Brian

Hi Brendan, fantastic minimalist image!
absolutely decisive moment here!
i like a lot
ciao!

Hi Brendan,
what a decisive moment !
Excellent minimalist framing, very clever, good vignetting...
Well done

Cheers Brendan!!

So simple yet so good!! The minimalistic approach is just great Brendan. The fact that you took it (or convert this one to B&W)gives the picture a special feeling. I also like the fact that this one differs pretty much from what I call your urban approach.
Very good composition and sharpness of the guys jumping from the bath tower!

see you around

Regards

ROLANDO

Hi Brendan,
How are things? I told you before that I like this shot. In fact I like even better the combo title + photo. So much drama ;-)
You clicked at the perfect time. I like the vigneting and use it quite a lot myself, but i find it a bit overkilled here. Either I'd go for a bit less, or maybe I'd expand it toward the inside a bit more.
Cool shot though!
Nicolas

Hi Brendan,,
This is an excellent composition! I love it...the way the guy is suspended in the air.
Well done,

Léonie

Bonjour Brendan

Photo intriguante, ultra minimaliste..
La composition interpelles vraiment.
C'est du très bon !!!

Amicalement.

Yves

damn Brendan this kicks ass! nicely composed and I like the slight tilt. I don't think the vignetting works that well here though...

How have things been for ya man? It's been awhile since I've been on here!
