Superbe.
snuggleaphagus (4146) 2004-07-04 3:17
Amazing. The texture of the clouds and the mystical moment are perfectly captured.

Well lit & composed & a nice frame, too.

This is wonderful Yves!
I love to see so much sky, and what a sky! I think this contrasted B&W is perfect to emphasize this scene, you chose a beautiful light. Bravo!
kogawa (4348) 2004-07-04 6:00
Very dramatic picture with the B/W the contrast the darkness and the contrast between the Stratocumulus sky and the rolls of straw in the fields.
Very good job and thanks for sharing with us!
eleparc (24063) 2004-07-04 6:27
different from the color prints i knew from you... i like it a lot..eventhough i wonder if cropping a slightly bit of this huge sky would not make it more powerful? and maybe lighten it a tiny bit too.. however, it is a great photo;-)
ma-tibou (4568) 2004-07-04 6:39

cgrindahl (6113) 2004-07-04 12:15
Wonderful! This is a dramatically different way of presenting the fields and skies of France, without the lovely colors to which we are accustomed. Your treatment emphasizes the texture and graphism of the image. Very fine work Yves.
manny (21833) 2004-07-04 13:08
Excellent shot Yves. The color tones emphasize the texture of the clouds and the ground. this is very good.

Again a photo to be proud of, Yves (well most of your shots are, but this one is a particular standout). The strong contrast and the b&w presentation really get the most effect out of this setting with the hayrolls on the field, topped by this supreme array of clouds in the early evening light. The vertical cropping definitely was called for. Well done, congratulations.

Merci
jrj (34841) 2004-07-05 4:19
Great perspective and the sky in combination with the field and hayballs works just to the best. Good choice the BW. Very good Yves.
merpb (2001) 2004-07-05 8:18

Probably my favourite of all.

I haven't read the other critiques to this one, but I figure there are some "WOWS", and I'll just add another one - WOW :o) On nights like this one I always wonder why some days the sky is the prettiest thing you've ever seen and for no particular reason.
The compo is jsut the way it has to be, in oredr to get as much of the sky in the shot. I love this.
Georges (11185) 2004-07-05 14:06

Can you tell me how you achieved such an effect?
Oldtree (2457) 2004-09-04 12:02
Wow. That one is different from the usual version of this theme. Very good composition and the perspective with the clouds is amazing.
poulinp (4530) 2004-11-12 9:45
colinbrenchley (6431) 2004-11-12 17:10
Great cloud photo with the sun just picking out the separate cells of the stratocumulus. The roles of straw and the field occupying the bottom of the photo to give scale and a good baseline. The right subject for B&W.
coco (30439) 2009-02-16 7:13
What great and magic place and moment you did shot!!
The wide (but vertical) composition, the contrast and the black and white look great.
