Photographer’s Note
Another example of historic transport still being used in regular service, one of the paddle steamers working still woking on Lake Luzern. As I suggested I might post to Kari last week

Hi Richard
This beutiful vessel (or a one very similar) at the lake by Geneva (would it be Lake Luzern) gives me memories of a visit back in 1984 where I got a job as freelance journalist. It gave me a trip to Geneva - a night at hotel Presidant and a trip with dinner on board this boat (I believe)
Thanks for sharing this and the memories - too bad I diden't bring a camera then.
The sepia gives the right atmosphere indeed.

Hi Richard,
I like it, for obvious reasons!
You had room also for the mast in full. Mountain background looks good as well.
Schiller was built in 1906, so it is also more than 100 years old.
(Beckenried belongs to canton of Nidwalden.)

That is a good loking bpat shot, Richard, and compliments on yur choice of sepia-ish tone here, it realy does the trick, as a colr shot would have been banal... Here you've managed an ageless look - could be 100 years ago.
Cheers,
Francis

Hi Richard,
It looks like you've been storming the area at about the same time as Kari, who posted also some views of these Vierwaldstättersee Oldies, nice choice to go sepia to produce the right atmosphere.
Have a nice day,

Hello Richard,
I just love these boats, perhaps because I was born in 1936 and I still remember with a lot of nostalgia the amazing steam engine rooms of these boats, the pistons, with their typical noise and smell.. You bring memories back with this picture, and a tip because tomorrow I will also post a similar picture.
Many thanks - Izzet

Hi Richard, nice photo! Looks like one of the old postcards you can buy from markets. Nothing I can criticise but it might be interesting to add some "grain" to make it look older? TFS. Paul.

Like a vintage postcard, Richard! I remember (with nostalgia) boats like this from other parts of the world (as well as steam railways) and always enjoy going back to those times.
Cheers

A nice, and interesting shot, Richard. The B&W gives it a nice period feel. This continues your interest in transport I think, and steam transport too. regards kevin

Hello Richard,
Le sepia convient parfaitement à cette scène. J'aurais peut être laissé la croix suisse en rouge :-)
Bon pov et cadrage
Best regards
