Photographer’s Note

my little colection of luxury car photos would not be complete without the "Jag" - British based luxury car manufacturer. the first car with the name "Jaguar" appeared in 1935, and the same year this name was given to the whole company. Jaguar became known in the 1950s with a series of elegantly-styled sports cars and luxury saloons, and they have had major success in sports car racing, particularly in the Le Mans 24 Hours. Jaguar also appears in many movies, including 1954 version of "The Fast and The Furious", "Batman" and in one of my favourites - "Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai".
Jaguar Cars holds Royal Warrants from both HM Queen Elizabeth II and HRH Prince Charles.

this particular car seems to be 1963 Jaguar 3.4 Mk2.

This has little to do with getting close to deserts ;-).

A wonderful closeup of a wonderful car. Though, Jaguar is not the brand it once used to be. In the Netherlands you will mostly see little bold men driving in Jaguars. Seems they feel a need to overcompensate something with it. You'll also have difficulties selling them second hand since you need a personal gas station hahaha. I knew someone who had one with a 4.2 engine. If he drove 160, it would use 1 litre of fuel on 2 to 3 kilometers. :-)

Thanks for your very perceptive comments about my photo, "Shooting a Renaissance Master." You have some fabulous images in your gallery, and I could start with virtually anyone. And, indeed, having discovered your eclectic collection, I will revisit frequently. I decided to critique this one first, because downstairs in the garage I have a gleeming, gun-metal gray 1985 Jaguar, Series III car, with a 4.2 liter engine and red leather upholstery. I've always loved, and it has always been a source of frustrations. I drive it about three times a month, and the rest of the time I drive a dependable Honda CRV. Like most Jaguar's from that period, it frequently has electrical problems. The Lucas Company in England produced the electrical systems for all Jaguars and MGs, and many others, until the Ford Company purchased the Jaguar. Lucas, along with the electrical systems of cars, also produces refrigerators for British households and pubs. THAT is the reason given for why the British drink their beer warm!

Your perspective is wonderful in this image. The gleaming chrome, and the majestic statuette of the jaguar, the emblem of relentless frustration!
