I am back from Switzerland & Paris. Wengen in located high in the Bern Oberland Kanton, at 1276m in the mountains. A very small village where tourist stop by mainly for skiing in the alps and hicking. I did 2-3 hiking in the high mountains and it was Amazing. Wengen lodge is located at the very bottom of the village, and steppy streets make it hard to reach with a backpack. It's looks like a old hauted house, but we were in dead season, so we were only 3 person in the whole hostel. Cheap Price, tranquillity and lots of space makes it great. The hostel is opened only since June 2003. I signed the guestbook. The doors are never locked up there & the hostel is slowly sliding down the mountain... so every floor inside is inclinated. Makes its weird place! the view is amazing. Behind we can see the Jungfrau far away. Did a lot of hicking. Marvelous pictures to come....
