[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It was a beautiful sunny morning as we rode the "gondol" to the top of the mountain for our first run of the day. Some days I met many interesting people on the gondol rides, but this time it was early and no one was very talkative, so I wrapped my camera strap around my wrist and held it out the window as far as possible to take some photos of the beautiful morning. In this shot I was lucky enough to catch a passing gondol (heading down) through the front window of the gondol I was in.

I know "gondol" is not an English word, but that is what everyone called it. I think in English we would call this a cable car? I have never ridden anything quite like it in America, so I don't know if there is a better English word for it. I learned lots of German ski terminology that week, and I didn't learn the English translations of some of the words. :)

On the small gondol in this picture you can see the red Swiss cross symbol, and also Hasliberg, the name of the tiny little town we were in.

Hi Erin
nice compo and PoV, i like this photo
super contrast yellow and blue sky and realy beautiful backgroun
good job
greetings lukasz

Hi Erin,
nice capture of an encounter and a good POV for that. The sharpness is not excellent, I think this is by the moving gondola.
The english word following some translator tools is "gondola", the german "gondel" is close to "gondol" by pronunciation.
Regards Ulf

A lovely composition, Erin. I hope that you have more shots with the trees and snow in focus?
I love the colours and the story with this one.

Hi Erin,
Interesting contrast between the yellow gondolas and the pure white snow. I like that you actually got your hands out in the cold to get this shot.
Thanks for the nice photo!
Brian

Original, beautiful and well composed picture Erin, excellent work!!

ciao,
Fabio. :o)

Hi Erin,
Thanks for sharing this. Its funny that you mention this as Gondol because even here in India, in Gulmarg, Kashmir we have an almost identical ropeway or cablecar called the gondolas. Nice coincidence or maybe some reason I am not aware of.

An original POV

Hi Erin. Very original composition! The key to this photo is the beautiful contrast between the yellow and the white. Nice shot!
