Photographer’s Note

Bachalpsee, 2265 M, is five hours away from Schynige Platte - Faulhorn - First hiking route or 1 hr 40 min from First. Had to purposely miss the last gondola ride down from First to Grindelwald because the place is just too beautiful to rush through. The intended 6hr 10 min (std) hike became more than 8 hr hike. But the one hour stop & rest was worth every minute.

Very nice point of view and contrasty colors.
I feel the mountains little blueish.
When I was there in 2002, it was totally overcast and raining...

I'd probably miss the gondola too.And I wouldn't be home for dinner, with a scenery like this. Glad you had purposely missed the gondola or we wouldn't be seeing this. Lovely take of the mountain with the lake upfront, on this plateau. I see a trekker in you.

Latiff, I spent two hours sitting by this lake waiting for the clouds to clear to get a view like this, but it was in vain, and when it started to rain I decided it was time to move on to my bed in the Hotel Faulhorn (which I emphatically recommend if you are passing that way again). You have produced a nice shot here, but to be fair it is hard not to, given the wonderful scenery. I am a bit disappointed that you haven't managed to capture the reflections of the peaks in the lake (which is what I wanted to do), nor have you really exerted yourself to give us anything interesting in the immediate foreground to catch our eye and provide some dynamic tension in the image. So only one point for this photo. A good shot, but nature gave you a big headstart here and I don't think you fully capitalized on it!!

Wow, breathtaking! Great mountains, a glacier and a lake in one photo, marvellous!
I'm hoping to go to this region within the next few months. Is the location of this photo only accessible by hiking?

Latiff,
this is a superb photo! You are a lover of Switzerland as this is a wonderful country. The P O V is excellent and the pastel colours are also real. Everything is balanced here. I like the reflection of the snow-covered peaks in the water at the margin of the lake. Tfs and have a nice weekend.

A wonderful picture from this lake. Colours and POV are excellent. It's a wonderful shot. I was last week here, everything frozen.
