Photographer’s Note

Ce jour là je suis parti très tôt avec la ferme intention d'arriver parmi les premiers au sommet de la Dent de Lys.
J'avais le secret espoir de pouvoir photographier la majesté des lieux c'est à dire le bouquetin en fait il y en avait une douzaine.
J'ai réussi à les contourner et à me positionner face à eux et il m'a suffit d'attendre.
Tranquillement ils se sont approchés de moi et voici l'une des photos.
Le surlendemain un collègue m'a dit "bof" tu sais c'est une réserve naturelle, alors ils sont habitués aux gens...

Very nice close-up capture of these ibexes, Georges. I was stunned how close you got to this one (who seems to be making eyes at you), but I read in your French note that this was taken in a wildlife park where those graceful animals are used to encounter humans.

I'm attaching a workshop to show you the potential that is in this shot. I hope you like it.

The two straws of grass framing the horns, going in approximately the same direction make an excellent composition I think. You also got a nice look on the animals face, he's looking straight at you. The colors look a little washed out and DOF a little narrow, the frontmost ibex a little unsharp.

Norbert's workshop is excellent, it addresses both problems, so I won't bother doing one myself.

I think this is a very enjoyable picture. It suits the subject matter for TE site. It's really unimagineable for me in Montreal!! I like the diagonal slant to the pic. nice stuff.

nwoehnl's workshop is very nice. I agree with his choice of composition too. The only thing is I think it's a bit oversharp. But it definitely needed a bit of sharpening.

Didn't look at any of the critiques, and started to make a workshop my self. Then I see that Norbert Nwoehnl allready had made one that was quite similar to mine, so I won't bother you with one more.

Simon Mitternacht have allready mention the lines of the straws that works as a great frame. I agree with that. It haven't been the same without. Norbert have catch a lot of what I wasfeeling about the composition in his workshop; to offcenter the ibex.

C'est vrai qu'il y en a beacoup dans ce coin. Mais il fallait aumoins avoir la patience de les attendre.

Un animal plutôt curieux et réserve ou pas il fallait monté les photographiés et la je doit avouer que la prise est excellente l'endroit très joli et votre patience a payer car le cliché est superbe.

Non, c'est faux, les gens ne sont pas tous habitués ;-)
Moi, je n'en n'avais jamais vu d'aussi près.
Je rage, j'ai failli ramener une photo de chamois de mes dernières vacances, mais j'étais trop loin.

Très belle photo, le reflet brillant dans l'oeil du bouquetin lui donne un air vif et malin.

Le bouquetin est un peu trop centré à mon gout, mais je trouve incroyable d'être arrivé à s'en approcher autant ! bien bel image avec le brouillard en arrière plan !

Une photo intéressante dans un moment rare quand même , moi j'aime bien le cadrage et la vue au fond .

Peu importe qu'il s'agisse d'une réserve, cela n'enlève rien à la beauté de l'instant... non ?

Very nice image. The way it looks at us and the whole landscape is very well caught.

Only miss a bit sharpening. A small crop from the right and the bottom could also help to take the main motive off-center and "create more space at the left. Made a WS.
