[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I came across this beautiful tree while taking a walk from Chateau de chillon on my way back to the swiss railway station in Montreux. Even thou this tree did not have any flowers or leaves it offered me a very pleasent welcome. For a moment I was poet, another I was lover and another I was a dreamer.. the view of the beautiful alps, the breeze blowing across the lake, the calm geneve lake and a bench to enjoy it made my visit most memorable .

It's great to be here and find yourself embraced by nature.

Critiques [Translate]

The draping tree is spectacular as a silhouette, especially when underexposed against the overexposed backdrop. I like the mood. If I can make two small observations - I think it would have been better yet if the boat had not been split by the trunk and if the horizon was rotated by 1 CCW to square it up. Great eye though.

Shalin, great job on this shot. It has a very dreamer feel to it. I like how the boat is split by the tree because it adds mystery to the photo since you can't really tell what kind of boat it is. Very peaceful and scerene. Giuseppe

Very beautiful B&W shot. Very well suited the three moods you mentioned.....'poetic', 'romance' and 'a dreamer'( more like me too).

quel bel arbre (pas aussi gros qu'un banian...), j'aime la brume sur le rivage qui donne un ton irrel à l'image; par contre, un peu dommage que le bateau soit coupé en deux par l'arbre
