I could not find a photo of the Rhine Falls in TE. This is why I postes two of this waterfall, the one in Europe with the higher flow. This photo is older than the other one and is a view from the front.
The "father Rhine" (der Vater Rhein) is in my opinion one of the beatifuliest rivers in Europe (and the world) which flows from the Alps in Switzerland to Rotterdam (Netherlands). Together with the Danube builts a border of water from the Black Sea to the Atlantic used by the romans as limit of their empire. In the nearest point both rivers flow very close one of the other (about 50 km) and they are even connected by subterranean water.
Some highlights of this river are the spring, the lake of Constance, this waterfall, the mouth of the Mosel river, the castles in Germany, the city of Cologne....
The river leaves the 80 km long lake of Constance in Stein am Rhein (other beatiful place) and a few kilometers after "dives" to create this wonder. Very impressive here is the roar of falling water.
The rock in the center can be reached with the boat you see and it can be climbed up. The stream is so strong that the boat's bow must aim wide to the left and then let it be pulled by the stream to the goal.

Data of the falls:
Heigth of the falls 23 meter, 77 feet
Width of the falls 150 meter, 500 feet
Depth of the pool 13 meter, 43 feet
Age of the falls 14'000 to 17'000 years
Av. flow summer 600m3/sec, 22'200 cubic feet/sec
Av. flow winter 250m3/sec, 9'200 cubic feet/sec
Max. historic flow in 1965 was 1'250 m3/sec (45'500 cubic feet/sec). Remember that one cubic meter weighs one ton.

Hola Clemente.
Pues no conocía las Rhinie Falls. Me pillan un poco lejos de casa, pero la verdad que en la foto tienen buena pinta.

Ahora más en serio. Buena composición y formato para la foto. La definición y la luz son también buenos.

Un saludo.
