Photographer’s Note
The Diavolezza cable car on its way up from Pontresina. Normally cable cars in Switzerland are red as are cameras, but the swiss sense of hospitality went as far as repainting this one in yellow to honour a famous Belgian visitor ;-)

Salut Jean-Yves,

JY,
This is a great shot of this colorful cable car suspended above this barren scene. The car provides excellent contrast for the barren landscape. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF.

Hi Jean-Yves,
Very deserted looking alpine scene. Nothing grows that high up but at late September amnount of snow seems to be at minimum. But I bet at a little lower altitudes nature looks as beautiful as ever. Well framed and the gondola is just on the right place.

Namaste JY,
Very well composed shot that shows the cable car station in FG and the yellow car at middle and the grey mountains at background. But I am impressed with the emerald coloured lake. It is fascinating. Colour balance, depth, sharpness and light all perfect. Tfs.
Have a nice day.

Ciao Jean,
Well done!

Hello JY,
Not a shot for the faint-hearted or anyone with vertigo!
A great pov where the cable creates a steep lead to take the eyes at breakneck speed across the frame!
The light is great creating shadows to reveal the nature of the terrain as well as interesting cloud and cable shadows.
Great composition with the car perfectly placed in the frame.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

A good angle to include the pretty green mountain lake, providing excellent balance to the sight of the cable car... I recognized the place already in the thumbnail, I was up there just 3 days after you... cheers ;)

Salut Jean-Yves,

Salut JY, this is a very dizzying POV here. You Swizz must be so used to heights that it doesn't bother you at all. Thankfully I can live through your photos without having to brave the heights :) The colour of the dam water is exquisite as is the depth of field. Inclusion of the cable station was good to give us an idea of where we are and where that cablecar is going. TFS and enjoy your weekend, Lisa.

Bonjour/Namaste JY
Belgian friend....let me guess...could it be Marianne? The setting is quite dramatic with the turquoise lake amidst the barren rocks of the high mountains. Of course the yellow cable car vies for attention with the lake. Like the shadow of the cable car...seems to be hanging there!
Best Regards

Ciao dear Jean Yves,
excellent image that thanks to the clear and bright day it has allowed you to capture a beautiful scenery with a good depth of field. The yellow of the cable car and the green of the lake give a pleasant chromatic contrast. Always beautiful the mountain!
Ciao, have a nice week end!

Bonsoir JY,
this looks dangerous. I know they say it's safe and everything is calculated with safety but think with me: the wires must be a few kilometres long. Supposing each meter of wire is 5kg weight then we have 1000m X 6wires X 5kg. That would be 30ton per km for the towers to hold, not considering the cable car! Well, this capture is good. The subject is right in the frame and the scenery does its part in the composition, specially the blue sky. I have several shots from my last trip to Whistler and I am very disappointed with them. I hope I can work on that to get something similar to yours. Well done!
Amitiés,
Carlos

Hello Jean,
This is very good PoV showing the vastness of the mountain range with the great yellow color of the cable car providing a nice splash in contrast to the grey-ish color of the mountains.
Thanks for sharing

Grüezi Jean Yves,
you chose a very interesting composition which presents to us a very picturesque perspective view :) But what I like most about this photo is the combination of two such different objects (which make the composition so stable and original!): the yellow cable car and the oval lake which looks so green :)
Wishing you a very nice weekend,

Hi Jean Yves, Very sharp photo, looks like a venue from a James Bond movie. The clarity of the air maybe very good but your hand is as steady as a rock too. Cropped well to make it quite dynamic. TFS. Murray.

Hello Jean Yves,
Did they rename it after me??? Hahahaha, oops...I am not famous, I forgot. Anyway, this is a great shot with so much depth and many beautiful mountains tops as far as we can see. Great composition with good light, wonderful colours and details. Great work!
Greetings,
Ann
