This is taken from a town called Bellinzona in the south of Switzerland, some 50km from the Italian border. We're looking north to Pizzo di Claro and Torrone Alto (2952m). Main attraction of the city are the three castles build more than 700 years ago. This picture was taken from a watchtower of one of the castles. Click the link at the bottom for the exact location.
The tower provides you a great overview of the city and the mountains surrounding it. Although this is still Switzerland, in that part of the country most things are Italian as the name of this city suggests. I've been told that the main language here in school is Italian. The kids are also thaught French and German.
I've never been to Switzerland/ the Alps before. I grew up in the west of the Netherlands where everything is flat. Being there gave me an impression that I am actually on a planet. :)
