[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was shot in the Gorges du Pichoux, in northwestern Switzerland, during a short hike upstream, following the river Sorne. An area so full of springs and watercourses, it is often quite hard to tell which stream is the actual river!

I liked this dilapidated old footbridge and how it blended with the scene so well - almost like it had been there forever and the woodland beyond looked so inviting I just had to make an image. The light was changing moment-to-moment and I shot a version with sunlight and one without. This one works better, I think.

Over the next few days I shall be uploading some more images from this fascinating area...

Hello, Julian -
Beautiful natural image. The old footbridge is great to look at, but also serves as a graphic device leading the eye toward the backlit stand of trees. Great light and shadows. Well done.

Hello Julian, welcome to TrekEarth.
A lovely shot for your debut.
The composition is good with the bridge leading us into the woods.
The light on the trees and also highlighting the leaves is quite beautiful.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Please include a short note as we like to know about the places you have photographed.

Welcome to TE! The light is indeed near perfect, which highlights the beauty of this spot.

HiJulian,
Really a amazing picture. Here we have a similar place in a park. Me and my daughter used to walk there. I loved it. congratulations.

Maria

Hi Julian,
Having the bridge to focus on within the forest really makes the photo, and your choice to place it centrally was a great decision. The light in this photo is fantastic, I'm not sure it could have been better captured!
Great shot, and thanks for sharing

Lee

Hi Julian,
A simple, straight to the subject picture. Green is all over the picture. It's nature in the spring.
Well done
Marc
