Last week and part of this week I spent few days in south-west Switzerland, in French speaking Canton of Vaud. I’ll post few photos from this unique area. First from Vineyards of Yvorne. The village of Yvorne is in background.
Yvorne is a small village in the Swiss Canton of Vaud, located in the district of Aigle close to Geneva Lake.
This small village of Yvorne is very well known for its high quality vines. In 1584, Yvorne was almost completely buried by a landslide of gravel, sand and clay.
The village was later rebuilt on this rounded slope and vineyards were planted. This created the unique soil that gives the wine its mineral and flint aromas. Nestled on cliffs, its vineyards are protected from the cold wind and benefits from its location on a southern hillside. The gravel-infused, water-permeable soil warms the vines.
Yvorne is a wine apelation in western Switzerland, its catchment area covering the commune of the same name. The village of Yvorne is in one of the prime vineyard locations of this area: an impressive gently sloped, south-west-facing bank between Yvorne and Aigle.
Red wines made under the appellation are produced predominantly from Pinot Noir and Gamay, while the whites are based almost entirely on Chasselas. Small quantities of Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are also used in Yvorne wines.
Yvorne wine vaults are a real tradition when it comes to wine tasting in the village. Vine producers welcome wine lovers for vine tasting and of course also for buying.

Switzerland does not seem to export much of its wine at least to France, which is very jealous of its own wines, but I assume most of it is white. I like very much this composition; it is pleasantly lit and has good saturated colours and clarity. The rows of vines make excellent lead-lines toward the focal point offered by the village with its red roofs.

Excellent rural landscape, perfect graphic of the rows of vineyards. But I have never tested the Swiss wine. I think, it's not cheap drink. Attractive green color, perfect sharpness.

A lovely view where the lines of vines create a fine pattern and also provide good depth. The little village is nicely clustered at the bottom of the hill and its red brick roofs contrast beautifully with the green dominance.

A dynamic compo the way the vineyards lead through the scene into the far end and what a lovely place this looks with its beautiful patterns. There are refreshing green, strong on detail with bright houses click to hold the eye firmly there with lovely touch of low warm light. Indeed a pleasing and peaceful landscape so well taken. Superb shot, TFS

Vineyard view "covers" all of pic. space, all around the small village houses, Miro.
Red roof-top added nice contrast on, and the length of the planted in rows added fine DOF on photo.

Sorry to hear you're travels are rain somewhat rain soaked, but it sure doesn't put a damper on you pictures. :) It sure looks like some nice light was afforded to you in this instance, soft but very effective to enhance the strong colors and contrast of pattern in this delightfully pleasing setting. I've always retained great memories of traveling along Lac Léman and seeing the vineyards than span the hillsides. This may not be right along the lake, but its just as attractive. Sharp detail, smartly composed and charming countryside appeal. Continue traveling safe and having a good time. Take care.

a very lovely and neat scenery, presented through a very interesting composition. The vineyards look superb, well taken care of, fresh and healthy, I like the graphical quality you have given them and the way they fill the frame and surround the settlement. Perspectives and colours are very appealing, the textures are vibrant and the shadows add a touch of mystery to the atmosphere. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great weekend,
