Photographer’s Note
Yverdon-les-Bains (CH) is more known for its spa than for its Neolithic menhirs (dated about 4500 BC).
However, these are impressive from several points of view :
- their number : you can find 45 of them in a place near the lakeshore, between the beach and a reserve called « la Grande Cariçaie »,
- their size and weight : they are up to 4,5 meters tall, and weigh up to 5 tons,
- their mysterious power : they are said to have a special cosmo-telluric energy, emitting vibrations that may even have an impact on your DNA...
Actually, when I was there, the main effect I could observe was on children, who screamed and slalomed between these good old stones… :-)
As for the title, the first thought I had when I saw these menhirs was that of a family, of which the smallest stone on the picture appeared like a dog.
To be continued…

Bea
