Photographer’s Note
Mute swans (Cygnus olor) on the Lake Geneva before sunset. I have always liked those long bendy necks.

Hi Kari,
Nice layering and colours. This is an interesting view of this town. The swans on the water add a more charming element to the view. Good framing and details. Thanks Kari :-)

Il taglio verticale con oche e paperette in primo piano è carino e dà profondità, anche se la foto ha qualcosa che non mi convince, rispetto alla media delle tue splendide postate.

Hi Kari, the lines and reflections of the swans are beautiful and the vertical format really emphasises these lines. They're beautiful white feathers contrast so well against the bloe sea and sky. Great job, Lisa.

Hi Kari,
So you like swans too. Anyway, this is a nice shot with great colors and nice reflections. The waves of a passing boat make the picture more lively.

Hi Kari,
The vertical perspective of this photograph really enhances the depth and the transition from water to buildings to mountains. Nicely exposed and composed!
Thanks!

Hello Kari,
nice shot of these swans and some ducks. I like your choice of vertical format. Good depth, light and colors. The golden reflections on the lake are another highlight in this nicely composed picture.
Best wishes,
Helmut

Hi Kari,
I think this is a very pretty shot, my only concern is that there are too many objects in the water which take the eye away from the main foreground swans which to me are the subject of the shot.
I have a workshop for you to consider.
Cheers

Hi Kari,
What a perfect day for a stroll around a lake in the afternoon. The light is perfect as well as the reflections and contrasts on the water. Pleasant composition, as pleasant as I imagine it must be to walk around the Lake Geneva.

Flavia

Hello Kari,
The swans are among the first migratory birds to return after the winter, so I hope to see them soon!
This is a balanced composition with good depth, and the birds are pretty well exposed with details in the plumages...
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Kari,
The reflections in the water are assets to the composition. The prese nce of the swans and of the ducks has an effect of scale. The point of view takes our eyes toward the buildings in the background which is giving depth to the photo. The late afternoon light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Beautiful picture Kari. The light is very good and the vertical created an impressive depth. From swan to swan we reach the cozy village in the back. Great colors. The back would definitely improve with the use of a 0.3 ND grad. It looks just slightly overexposed (although I don't see any blown highlights). I think it can even be corrected in RAW conversion. Nice one!

hello Kari,
Joli premier plan, mais surtout, très belle lumière sur les maisons. Bien vu.
Bonne soirée

Nice capture with good reflections on the calm water. But to me the composition is too central - it might have been more effective to wait until some of the swans moved away from the centre-line, to give the compo more dynamism.
PS: I hope you don't think I'm being mean - I feel that an actual *critique* is more helpful than a simple "bravo, great photo, well done" - assuming you're on TE in the hope of improving your photography.
